One of my friends reminded me that this is the 10th anniversary of Better Luck Tomorrow's opening weekend, a film, often sited as the first Asian-American culture-focused feature, that kicked off the career of Fast and Furious franchise director, Justin Lin, and grossed over $3M in the box office.  I remember it was also one of the first MTV Films.  A generational classic, it is also a film that anyone who likes off-beat stories, Quentin Tarantino (something about the storytelling style is similar) or youth culture movies would really enjoy.

'The number of blacks who identify as nonreligious increased from 6 percent in 1990 to 11 percent in 2008…'

At the same time, blacks remain far more religious than most Americans. They have the highest percentage of church membership of any racial group—87 percent—and the highest percentage of people who say they absolutely believe in God…This leaves black atheists in the no man’s land between the black community they grew up in and the predominantly white world of atheists, agnostics and nonbelievers.
